In 2003 Erik Hansen formed his first company, ETC Consulting, LLC. The company was formed to provide expert instruction to private security officers, correctional officers, as well as federal, state and local law enforcement officers. As time went on, Erik received numerous requests from corporate clients to consult on internal investigations, termination proceedings and run executive protection details. Once Erik relocated to South Carolina and finally to Florida these requests became more frequent, leading him to form The ETC Collective to better address the needs of his current and future clients.

About the Owner
Erik Hansen retired as a decorated police officer after twenty-five years of service and is the founder and president of The ETC Collective, LLC.
During Erik’s tenure with a large Connecticut police department, he was assigned to the Chief’s Strategic Planning Committee, worked in uniform, plain clothes and prolonged undercover assignments.
Erik planned and executed tactical operations including the service of high-risk search and arrest warrants as well as surveillance and countersurveillance operations. Erik was also extensively involved in use of force training and retired as the Commanding Officer of the Firearms Unit where part of his duties included training members of the Emergency Response Team (SWAT).
During his tenure as a law enforcement officer, Erik received training in dignitary and executive protection. Erik has also trained over fifteen hundred private security officers throughout New England and served as a team leader on personal protection details for foreign dignitaries and other at-risk individuals.
Erik was tasked with starting a new executive protection (EP) program for a Fortune 500 company. This included writing protocols, staffing and training the EP agents.
Upon retirement from law enforcement Erik took a fulltime position as an executive protection agent for an ultra-high-net-worth family (UHNWF) based in New York City. Erik was entrusted with the safety and security of the family, their various estates and yachts and included domestic and international travel. Erik lived and traveled with the UHNWF for several years before taking on a consulting role for the family.
Recently, Erik has been heavily involved in security consulting not only in Florida, but around the country. Erik successfully consulted on numerous security operations putting together clients with the right security personnel to meet their operational needs.
In addition to Erik’s expert knowledge and experience, he maintains a worldwide network of personal contacts throughout the law enforcement and private security arenas who may be called upon to provide a wide range of equipment and operational support as needed.
